Why I Choose to Mediate
“Things are not quite so simple always as black and white.” – Doris Lessing
Mediation can be a cost-effective, more equitable, efficient way to settle almost any dispute. While it is often said there are “no winners” in a lawsuit, mediation can offer ways in which all parties feel satisfied with the outcome.
Biography
I am a third-generation Floridian with strong roots in Polk County where I was raised. After graduating from the University of Florida, I returned to Lakeland to begin my career with Lakeland Realty, where I am the owner/broker. I also own Companion Animal Hospital of Lakeland with my wife Dr. Patricia Mattson. We have two teenage children and are proud to call Polk County home.
My mediation training began with the National Association of Realtors, mediating broker disputes for my local Realtor association. My passion to help parties solve problems led me to pursue certifications in several areas of mediation.
I am only one of a few mediators in the circuit to hold certifications in Circuit Civil, Family Law, County Court as well as Appeals. Having certifications in these areas has allowed me to mediate over 1,000 cases.
